Welcome to Zimbabwe

Touted as the adventure capital of Africa, Zimbabwe is one of those places you simply have to experience for yourself. A culturally diverse country, with 16 official languages, the natural beauty to be found here is as varied as its people. The spectacular Victoria Falls, aptly known as the “Smoke that Thunders” and a natural Wonder of the World, are truly impressive at 1.7 kms wide and 100 metres high. Action enthusiasts will delight in wild activities including white water rafting, gorge swings, bungee jumping, canoeing, river boarding, and helicopter or microlight flights.

In stark contrast to the hive of activity found in the charming town of Vic Falls, the remoteness and tranquillity spanning the rest of the country is blissful. Lake Kariba, one of the largest manmade lakes in the world, is a great fishing destination where house boats are the way to unwind. The game rich Mana Pools National Park is something special, and is best discovered on a walking or canoeing safari – switching off and getting back to nature is the vibe here. Hwange National Park, the largest natural reserve in Zimbabwe, is home to a massive elephant population (in excess of 30,000) and also to an elusive predator – the endangered African Wild dog (estimated at 150 in Hwange). The Big Five can be found here, as well as over 400 bird species and abundant plains game.

Less visited but equally intriguing are the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, the fascinating granite landforms of Matobo Hills (with prehistoric rock paintings) and Gonarezhou National Park with its spectacular Chilojo Cliffs.

When it comes to natural splendour and wonder, Zimbabwe has it all.
