There’s something undeniably special about Uganda. The small landlocked country stole our directors’ hearts many years ago and ever since then it’s been one of our top destinations. But, soon after starting to sell this destination we began to yearn for more. Then in 1996 our Uganda operations were launched under the guidance of Paul and Jane Goldring. We have grown massively since then and now run a huge operation with 2 lodges and a tented luxury camp as well as one of Murchison Falls’ top fishing charters.
One of only two lodges bordering the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda, Buhoma is truly one of the top places to stay in the region. This intimate, environmentally friendly lodge is renowned for its warm hospitality and excellent food and is the perfect base from which to track the extremely rare and endangered mountain gorilla. The Nile River is one of the world’s most famous rivers and in Murchison Falls you can truly see its might. The entire river forces itself between a gap only 7 metres wide and is a spectacle to behold. Our Baker’s Lodge (named after explorer Samuel Baker, the first European to see Murchison Falls) is set on the banks of the river and offers boat safaris and world renowned Nile Perch fishing, whilst taking in the splendor that is the Murchison Falls. Only opened in 2015, Baker’s is pure, remote luxury on the banks of the Nile. To have a look at Baker’s Lodge click here.
Ishasha Wilderness Camp
The Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s top wildlife destinations and yet barely known outside of East Africa. Set alongside the Ntungwe River, Ishasha is an intimate tented camp which offers wonderful game viewing and serenity in the African bush. Famous for its tree climbing lions, Ishasha has been awarded multiple Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence and is always one of our guest’s highlights. Check it out here.
