Tammy, one of our senior safari planners from our head office, and Cheryl our sales guru, recently headed up to Tanzania to get the low down on what’s hot and happening in our Serengeti camps and its surrounds.
Following a lively night out in Arusha town, sampling Chicken on the Bonnet at Khan’s barbeque, and followed by a nightcap at the Lively Lady, the girls headed to Tarangire National Park. Best known for its’ abundance of elephants and baobabs, what better way to end the day than watching the sunset over the Tarangire River whilst sipping sundowners. After a good nights rest, nothing beats starting the day watching the sunrise, followed by a picnic breakfast.
Travelling via Lake Manyara, through scattered Masai villages, they arrived at Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site teeming with abundant game including lion, cheetah, elephant and hippos. A slower day absorbing the beauty of the area included a scenic coffee stop in the crater.
Finally, it was onto the Serengeti to check out our very own Serengeti Wilderness Camp, where giraffe and zebra roam freely around the tents. Tammy was spoilt with a hot air balloon ride and champagne bush breakfast, whilst Cheryl headed north to check out some other lodges. Dinner enjoyed around the campfire was the perfect reminder as to why we at Wild Frontiers work to make travellers’ dreams a reality. A charter flight back to Arusha gave a final birds eye view of this magnificent, warm and friendly east African gem.
Whilst it may seem the girls had a great break from the office, it was all in a day’s work, and between all their game viewing and adventures, they visited 31 camps and lodges! They have the latest info to guide you in planning the perfect safari – so please do feel free to pick their brains and give them a shout with all your Tanzanian requirements.
The route they followed forms part of our Essence of Tanzania trip which may be enjoyed as a scheduled or private safari.
