April and May are very special months in Tanzania. Not only do the rains falling across the Serengeti plains kick start millions of wildebeest and zebra into their journey north, it’s also a time when the dust settles and grass plains are bursting with short-lived flowering plants. The contrast of green plains against dramatic, moody skies makes for some magical photography, with great depth of light and colour.
As the herds start moving toward central Serengeti, huge columns of animals up to 40 km (25 miles) in length can be seen funneling their way up into the central and western Serengeti. The area around Moru Kopjes and west of Seronera is teaming with game, as predators – lion, cheetah, hyena and leopard – track this great procession.
During the low season periods (November to December and March to May) we offer low season rates, to help you save on your Serengeti safari. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
