Bucket lists are there to be ticked off and experienced – not just dreamt of. This July tick off two incredible experiences in one unique trip – trekking Gorillas in the forests of Uganda and an African Safari where tree climbing lions are just one of the marvels that await you.
Coming into close contact with endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat is a life changing experience and one that few people get to enjoy in their lifetime. Our Fly in Package takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where you’ll get the opportunity to trek Gorillas, enjoy walks in the lush forest and visit the Batwa Pygmies.
Then it’s off to the remote Ishasha Wilderness Camp in Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its intimate tented accommodation, great food and great service. Time permitting, we may visit a community project enroute. Here the local people allow you to enjoy some time in their homesteads, as well as see some of the crops and curios they produce, and visit the local elephant trench project – which stops elephants coming into the village and raiding crops. Game drives in the Ishasha area typically encounter huge herds of buffalo, elephant, Uganda kob and of course the famous tree-climbing lion typically found in the area. Birders will also delight in Uganda which boasts some of the best birding in Africa – with over 1,000 different different species, including the remarkable grey crowned crane and a host of endemic forest birds.
Luxury accommodation, professional guides and custom made safari vehicles make this safari the trip of a lifetime. For the latest information on our Gorilla Express scheduled safari and a collection of other tours please contact us on reservations@wildfrontiers.com.
