Bahati Martin
SENIOR GUIDE – TANZANIA
Some Background
Bahati is 33 years old, energetic, and full of enthusiasm when guiding! He was born in Mamire Village at the border of Tarangire National Park, he grew up seeing wild animals around him and that sparked his interest and eagerness to learn more about Wildlife.
After high school, he attended a course to become a Safari Guide. He grins and says that the route to his goal was not an easy one, in that he had to start with the mountain first (referring to Kilimanjaro).
He started working as a porter first and later on became an assistant mountain Guide. He has climbed Kilimanjaro more than 100 times and made it to the top 7 times.
Bahati also worked as a Safari chef for four years before becoming a safari guide, a man of many talents. He loves guiding, flora and fauna, cooking, sport, studying and playing guitar.
”Bahati communicates easily with his guests and loves sharing his passion of guiding with them.
If he isn’t trying to identify a new bird or tree in the bush, he has his head in a book studying a new species!” – John Addison, Director
