The Okavango Traverse Safari is a more relaxed safari with more time spent exploring the Delta and its wildlife. On this safari you will experience some of the diversity of the Okavango Delta as you cover vast areas (approximately 175km) of the Okavango Delta. It will, however, exclude the Okavango Pan-Handle or South Eastern area, depending on where the safari departs from. The same channel will be used going in and out of the Delta. Wildlife is more abundant in the lower section (South Eastern area) than the top section (North Western area).

Day 1: Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing next to the pool and river at your lodge. Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: After breakfast, board your boat at the lodge. Game watching, birding, fishing or just relaxing on board taking in the magnificent palm-framed views of the Okavango Delta. Arrive at your first nights' camp, nestled between dense bush on a small island in the Okavango. Enjoy a sundowner cruise before dinner is served around the campfire.

Day 3 to 6: Early morning coffee, rusks and cereals will be ready before exploring the island. Extended game walks are possible only on the bigger islands. If you prefer to sleep in and enjoy a leisurely morning in camp, please feel free to do so. After brunch, board your boat. Even though vast distances are covered through the Okavango Delta, much time is spent drifting downstream while game watching, birding, fishing or just relaxing on board, taking in the magnificent palm-framed views of the Okavango Delta. A light lunch / snacks will be served on board or on one of the islands. Arrive at camp in the early evening. Enjoy a sundowner cruise and fishing before dinner is served around the campfire. The evenings are spent gazing at the stars, reminiscing about the day's experience in the Delta.

Day 7: Early morning coffee, rusks and cereals will be ready before exploring the island. Board your boat, relax and enjoy the last but very scenic day on the Okavango Delta. Arrive at your lodge in Maun in the early evening and enjoy a sundowner drink before dinner (for your own account). Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 8: After breakfast, depart on your onwards journey.
