Why I Love To Travel
I always look up the meaning of words, and here is what I found on the word travel:
ˈtrav(ə)l/verb: travel – make a journey, typically of some length.
Odd I thought, that a word with so much weight in description, can be summed up in one short sentence …..and then I thought that whomever put down the description was probably faced with the same dilemma, there truly is no one description for travel, travel is a feeling, an experience, it’s something that adds value to each of our lives on a very personal level and it lets us grow and expand as a human beings.
It teaches us about life, diversity, people and their cultures, animals & nature, but most of all it teaches about the interconnectedness of everything on our world.
Travel offers to the soul what blood offers to our veins and all of our cells – the ever changing experience of LIFE
South Africa, Mozambique, Zanzibar, Tanzania and the Scotland/UK.
Most Memorable Holiday
The first time I travelled to Tanzania. I was very lucky on this trip in that I got to see quite a bit of the Gem that is Tanzania. I saw the herds of wildebeest in the Serengeti, an amazing event in nature of which only the experience of seeing it and hearing it for yourself, can convey the tale. Being inside Ngorongoro Crater, visiting Olduvai Gorge and experiencing the sheer size of something that stretches time unimaginable, the dense untouched Selous, one of the largest faunal reserves of the world, and of course Hemmingway’s “loveliest lake in Africa” – Lake Manyara
My Travel Wishlist
Machu Picch, Egypt, the Amazon, Cambodia (Angor Wat) …..Basically, anywhere that contains sacred sites, Artic, Antartica, Brazil
Never Travel Without…
A camera goes without saying, but wet wipes, a nail clipper and a tweezers have saved lives
The Luxury Travel Item
A really good pair of all terrain walking shoes!
