For John, making it to the summit of Mt Everest in May 2009, was the culmination of many years spent climbing big mountains around the world.
This has included 8 summits of Mt. Kilimanjaro, 3 Expeditions to Mt. Kenya and its technical summit, the Ruwenzori's or Mountains of the Moon in Uganda, 3 expeditions to Aconcagua in Argentina, Elbrus in Russia, Kosciusko in Australia, Mt Blanc, twice to Lobuche in the Himalaya and numerous other mountains and expeditions, many of which have included multiple routes on each mountain.
John is an avid endurance athlete having completed the Ironman, Comrades and Two Oceans ultra marathons, many long triathlons, cycles and runs. He also has a great passion for rock and ice climbing
and these activities have seen him travel to all corners of the globe.
He has led many groups for us over the years, encouraging guests to reach their personal goals and has an incredible passion and energy for hiking and mountaineering. He also has a few funny stories to share along the way.
