At Wild Frontiers we don’t just simply ‘sell safaris’ we design them with utmost care and attention to detail. We have been pioneers exploring Africa since the early 80’s… there have been many changes over the years, and we have adapted to these changes. Our intimate knowledge runs through the company - this makes a big difference to how your trip is designed – by people who have actually personally been to the areas, operated trips there - climbed the mountains, cooked the food, built the camps, canoed the rivers and experienced things first hand.  We are seventh generation Africans , our families have been exploring and living in Africa since the early 1800’s ….

We are not just ‘brokers’, we own and operate our own vehicles, lodges and camps – and we employ almost 200 people in Africa, these people are our major asset, we invest in them heavily with training, promotion and family support – they make Wild Frontiers what it is today. The owners, and staff are continually trying out new destinations or visiting existing operations to ensure that they are still up to our high standard. We also ensure that our operations are run in an environmentally aware manner, and contribute to the wellbeing of the region and its inhabitants.

It is company policy that all consultants should personally visit all the areas we market regularly. Some of our reservations team have been with us for over 15 years, and have a vast amount of experience – this knowledge and attention to detail will be the difference between designing an ‘average’ and a memorable safari. If they do not personally know an area, someone else in the office will. We have ‘contacts’ all over Africa – a good support mechanism – just in case!
Our head office is based in Johannesburg, with operational offices in Uganda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Wild Frontiers are active members of ASATA, our Uganda operation belongs to AUTO (the Association of Uganda Tour Operators), and the Tanzanian operation belongs to TATO , and our Zimbabwe operation is licensed by ZTA and we are members of SOAZ. All operations have full public and passenger liability insurance – and are licensed, tax paying companies in the countries in which we operate (your monies stay in Africa).

From Uganda through to Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, to the intriguing west - Gabon, CAR and Congo, and of course Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa - a broad range of products from luxury lodges to mobile safaris, diving, climbing, bird watching, adventure activities and special interest safaris such as Photographic (guided by photographic experts) are available. Tailor-made for families, groups, incentives and conferences as well as set departure dates are available.

We also operate annual sports and adventure events, some with over 5500 participants – Kilimanjaro Marathon, Victoria Falls Marathon, Victoria Falls MTB Challenge, Zambezi Man etc – hard work & great fun.

We have run trips and hosted film crews for such celebrated media as BBC, National Geographic, Conde Nast, Getaway Magazine, M- Net, Discovery Channel etc, and for major travel wholesalers from USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Argentina, New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, France, Japan and Denmark.

We have a strong belief in supporting local communities, wherever possible - and when working with other companies in Africa, we make sure they too have a proper conservation and eco-tourism policy in place. We feel it is important to put something back – whether large or small – in every way possible.

If you want a well designed, intelligently tailored safari, operated by people who know what they are doing , you have come to the right place …..
